Mr. Cannon is a lifelong Missourian. His Father came from rural SW Iowa and his Mother came from SE Missouri, both moving to St. Louis as part of the early 20th Century migration from rural to urban. He lived for 3 1/2 years on a farm in rural SE Missouri due to his Dad’s dream to attempt to relive his own childhood. Here, his Dad taught him various aspects of farming, such as plowing behind a horse, picking corn by hand, and starting and tending a garden. It is from this experience that he learned the basics of a vegetable garden that he wants to pass on to those interested in initiating their own project.
