J.E. Dumas lists her "day job" as one of her primary hobbies, her current field of work based in retail and the food service industries where she works incredible part-time hours, allowing her to pursue writing nearly full-time. She is a Colorado born and raised girl; neither country nor city but rather an interesting mixture of the two. She currently resides in Western Colorado with her husband, daughter, three sons and menagerie of animals: a pit-bull terrier, German Sheppard, Columbian rainbow boa constrictor, rabbit and two newly acquired ornate box turtles. J.E. shortly pursued a career in medical transcription after high school before realizing her love of writing was in fiction, not fact. Her husband is a jack-of-all-trades and has a love of all things with wheels from skateboards to semi-trucks. You’ll easily see bits of him in each daring man she writes about. Her children all have vivid imaginations, continually role-playing everything from student and teacher scenarios to vast battles among their inner ninjas. The four of them definitely help to keep the magic alive within J.E.’s daily life. One of J.E.’s favorite things is getting lost in a book; some of her favorite genres are fantasy, romance, horror and mystery. She is an avid baker (though she loves cookie dough the most) and she enjoys knitting and coloring. Her most joyful times are spent with her friends and family; simple backyard barbecues or board games, movies-at home or the theater; even better the drive-in, or best of all, enjoying the outdoors together-camping, hiking and bike riding.
