"Jazz " earned her pen name by tearing down narrow walls of inhibition and finding hope in her fears. Born as Jasmine Rodriguez, Jazz began her written excursion as one of the many homeless youths of New York City. Like others to come before her, Jazz utilized her talents to persevere through some of life’s most obstinate challenges. This skillful and adaptable poet uses her imaginative mind to magically transform city blocks into building blocks, which she then uses to assemble bridges from her heart to yours. An autodidactic learner, much of her evolving education comes as a result of traveling. She is an avid reader and an absorber of her surroundings. Her passion for poetry is matched only by her hunger for expression, and both lead her to become a literary conduit-a wind instrument bent on soulful articulation and spiritual sound. With every note uttered, she captures what it means to be human. With every word heard, listeners are forced to explore the depths of their own minds.
