Cindy Pantoja was born in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico; where she played with hand-crafted wooden toys, and she listened to mariachi music every day. She was raised in Oakland, California where she fell in love with its people and its diversity. Then, later she developed as a writer in Portland, Oregon, where its constant rain inspired her to write a series of mystic characters and fascinating stories. Now she is back to the Bay Area because she says that, "this is the only place where the coffee smells like Oregonian rain and the wind sounds like a mariachi song."
