Gabriel’’s Game

A small time hood murders a man in his sleep. Overwhelming evidence links the crime to a brilliant, successful but universally hated attorney as the man who contracted the hit. Despite their dislike for him, the investigating detective and the deputy district attorney come to believe that they are being manipulated in some sort of devious and inexplicable game. But the frame is just too perfect and the judicial process takes on a life of its own, moving inexorably toward the attorney's conviction. Gabriel's Game is a wry tale of justice being perverted for a purpose known only to the man who planned it and the man whose job it was to see it through to the end.

Ken Carroll is a retired attorney. He spent nearly twenty years in private practice as a trial lawyer and another sixteen years as a labor lawyer for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Carroll is a Vietnam Veteran, 1967-68, who served in the Army Security Agency. He also served with the Dallas Police Department for nearly seven years before entering Baylor University School of Law in 1979. Mr. Carroll has one other published novel, The Alien Within.
