Collects recent results in curve shortening flow, especially singularities and asymptotic behavior of planar flows where the classical approach is sufficient. Chou (mathematics, Chinese University of Hong Kong) and Zhu (mathematics, Zhongshan University) study the Gage-Hamilton theorem, Grayson’s convexity theorem, invariant solutions, applications to the existence of simple closed geodesics on a surface, and the almost convexity theorem for the generalized curve shortening problem.
