Writing on the Wall

It doesnt take San Francisco detective Del Mason long to realize that her new neighbor, Lola Bannon, has more baggage than a cruise ship. Shes seen too many victims of domestic violence not to recognize all the signs. Their mutual spark of attraction is compelling, but she knows that for now Lola needs friends, not lovers.

When Lola is mugged and then her home vandalized, Del cant help but take a personal interest though other detectives are on the case. Vandalism escalates to vicious warnings and allusions to Lolas past, but Lola has no idea what the perpetrator wants. The department advises Lola enter protective custody. The one person Lola trusts, Detective Del Mason, is ordered to keep her safe.
