Before free love, sit-ins and the hippies of the late ’60s, there was an era of strict rules governing social conduct that were well-defined and enforced by public opinion and a strong moral code. It is during this time that a young coed, Joanna Ransome, is introduced to a handsome married professor, Jared Fowler. That seemingly insignificant event changes the course of her life. Together they dare to defy the conventions of their time. Once they have begun, they are powerless to break the connection ... until one of them takes a step that has tragic consequences. Poet, essayist and now novelist, Jeanne Howard’s work has expanded over the years to include women’s fiction. Jeanne holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. In 1973, she was co-founder of a successful group of weekly newspapers, which she continued to operate until 1994. A resident of southern New Jersey, Jeanne retired as Director of Communications for a large school district and devotes her time to Wings ePress, Inc., where she serves as Executive Editor.
