Microeconometrics Using Stata

Economists Cameron (U. of California-Davis) and Trivedi (Indiana U.-Bloomington) update their December 2008 textbook to incorporate new features of Stata 11, the latest release of the econometrics software package they introduce and explain. To the extent possible, they make the new edition compatible, or at least commensurate, with the first. The text can be used by graduate students and researchers as an adjunct to their 2008 Microeconometrics: Methods and Applications or similar core textbooks, where there is theory to cushion the bare-knuckle practical explanation of applying the software that takes priority here. Among their topics are Stata basics, linear regression basics, quantile regression, basics and extensions of linear panel-data models, nonlinear optimization methods, binary outcome models, and count-data models.
