Patricia B. Hogenes has written a book that is long overdue for domestic violence victims. As a past victim, and survivor of abuse, Patricia has found a way to reach out to those still within these harmful relationships. Most domestic violence victims tend to believe that there is no way out. Why? Because that's what their abuser wants them to think. The abuser will take every opportunity to say so through the use of threats, shame, humiliation, isolation and manipulation. With the taking of proper steps to ensure success and safety, this need not be the case. Domestic Violence: I Wasn't Going To Take It Anymore is an inspirational book that contains true and successful stories of how past victims of physical, mental, emotional and sexual abuse were able to get out and stay out - FOREVER. The participants were eager to share their stories with the intent of reaching out to those still within an abusive relationship and prove that they too can be free. The survivors of these stories said to themselves, "I Wasn't Going To Take It Anymore " And they didn't. Patricia B. Hogenes obtained her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology as well as an Associate's in Medical Assisting. She has reached candidate status in the Keuka College Master of Science Degree program in Criminal Justice Administration. Patricia works closely with current victims involved in domestic violence relationships by providing assistance in the development of safety planning and exit strategies. Her work also includes recommendations and referrals to holistic health modalities as well as traditional care therapies for victims of domestic violence to ensure successful completion of the recovery process.
