As children of God, we know our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19), and we are called to care for them with responsibility and gratitude. That is why the fight against being overweight and overeating cannot be approached from a physical standpoint alone; it requires a deeper look that also includes emotional and spiritual aspects.
Many people fight a silent daily battle with food. In times of anxiety, stress, or unhealed emotional wounds, food becomes a crutch that attempts to replace the love and peace that only God can give us. No food can satisfy us the way that only the Holy Spirit can.
Being overweight is one of the most urgent health crises of our generation. It is estimated that by 2035, more than half of the world’s population will be overweight, and a quarter will be obese. Despite human efforts, we continue to lose this battle. And the Church? It often remains silent in the face of this real problem that affects millions of people.
This book is an invitation to see this struggle with spiritual eyes, to identify its deep roots, and to make decisions guided by the Word of God.
