As the U.S. is brought to its knees by an unstoppable enemy, the six survivors of The Cave struggle to stay alive as the final battle begins.

Kate is badly injured and flees to safety, hoping to repair her wounded legs – and her heart. Percy has distanced himself from Kate in order to spend more time working in the governmental lab with his uncle.
