Huntsville, Texas prison inmate Charlie Cruppe utters his deathbed wishes to cell mate Derrick Mulford. He tells where to locate part of the loot from a long ago train robbery. The stash is located on Charlie’s homestead near Dallas. When found and exposed as Charlie had instructed, then others, who were sure to follow, might believe that was the extent of the treasure and give up on the idea of getting any of it.
Charlie, however, is a shrewd man and had hidden the more worthwhile gold from the robbery in an undisclosed location in Riggs Crossing, Missouri. Riggs Crossing was in proximity to where the robbery had taken place. He would not reveal the location of the gold until Mulford promised to locate and tell his sister, Cynthia Cruppe of Charlie’s passing and to split the proceeds of the hidden loot with Cynthia. To insure this would be done, Charlie gives only a clue to the actual location of the loot. His last words were that Cynthia was to be there at Mulford’s side, then and only then was he to ask about Sarah’s grave, perhaps the location of the treasure. Only Cynthia would know and solve the mystery. It would be a surprise to Cynthia as she knows nothing about the stolen money.
