Raised in a small New Jersey town by an African American mother and a Panamanian/Jamaican father, Andrea spent most of her childhood reading books and writing her own stories. Caroline Dittmann is an illustrator who grew up in San Francisco, the oldest of five kids. She has worked as a seamstress for theater productions, a librarian, and a croissant baker.
