This story starts when a very successful businessman meets with a problematic employee. The intent is to terminate his employment for cause. Instead, this troubled employee commits suicide in the owner’s office and at his desk. This traumatic event results in the businessman’s drive to reassess his own life, his values, and the things that he believes to be important.
In the process, he finds himself partnered with an unfortunate younger man who has similar issues and needs. Together they take a symbolic sabbatical to renovate a 19th century miner’s house in the small remote mountain village of Redstone, Colorado. Through this sabbatical challenge they find new values and experience a multitude of life’s great lessons - traumatic, romantic, and sometimes funny.
