A wealthy man offered a thousand rupees to a poor dervish ( a holy man).
The dervish asked the rich man, ＂You are giving me a thousand rupees. How much do you have for yourself＂?
＂Many many thousands of rupees＂, was the answer
＂Do you still hanker after more＂?
＂Surely yes! Answered the rich man
＂Then I cannot accept your offering＂, said the dervish. ＂For a rich man must not receive one poorer then he＂!
＂I do not understand,＂ said the rich man.
The dervish explained, ＂ Though I have nothing I desire nothing! You have plenty; and yet desire much more! Surely, the man who desires is poorer than the man who is content with what he has＂!
