Pianists and the Music of Their Time: Facing the Unknown

The dialogue between composers and performers, using the score as a point of departure and reference, as well as reactions and practices concerning unknown music, are explored by the author, conducting interviews with renowned pianists responsible for premiering works by major 20th-century composers, and accessing music press.

Zélia Chueke is a pianist, associate researcher at IReMus (Institut de recherche en musicologie), permanent researcher at the Observatoire Musical Français, Sorbonne University (2002-2013), and founder and head of the Groupe de recherche Musiques Brésiliennes as well as the International Exchanges o Music Theory and Performance project.
