Walking in My Shoes: A Woman’s Story of Leadership

＂Walking in My Shoes＂ is a story about the author’s experience as a woman in varying levels of leadership over six decades. She believes the world desperately needs more female leaders, and hopes her story inspires readers to look back on their own paths so far as they make bold changes for the future.

Laura Downey Hill is a business owner, community advocate, leadership speaker, and a previous elected official and Mayor of Southlake, TX. She is a wife and the mother of three grown children, four dogs, and 8 rescued donkeys. While overcoming what many consider to be ordinary challenges, she also excelled in the corporate realm and in public office. This journey exposed a gift for leadership and a desire to serve with lessons for all women. Laura’s focus is on meeting these challenges without surrendering to the false ethic that women must achieve like men.
