Neural Rainbow An earlier title for this 3-volume work, On the Origin of Individual Differences - as a parallel to Darwin’s On the Origin of Species - was abandoned because it said both too much and too little about the topic of this amazing and unique book. Too much, because the story the book tells is more about epigenetics than genetics per se, and too little because the origins of individual differences are important only as they point to categories of individual differences. Once identified, these categories generate a wide range of implications and consequences that revolutionize concepts about gender, human culture, and the place of humans among other animals. The most fundamental principle of the book is that gender is not the ’elephant in the room’ - it is the room. The second principle is that humans are subject to the same biological rules that all organisms on this planet must obey if they are to persist and flourish. As things stand, however, humans are doing neither, and Neural Rainbow spells out exactly why we aren’t - and explains what has to be done if we want to give the history of humanity a happy ending.
