Grave Trippers II: Remembering and Respecting America’s Heroes and Heroines

A fun, history-saturated guidebook for pilgrimages to the gravesites of Americans who changed the course of history: the Gardino brothers lead another trip to cemeteries across the United States where prominent Americans who served their country lie. Visiting the tombs of seventy-two of these heroes and heroines in all parts of the United States, the Gardinos use their tour itineraries to share underappreciated nuggets of American history and the lives of the men women who made it. These citizens were soldiers, scientists, authors, judges, civil rights leaders, actors, singers, athletes, political leaders, and clergymen with one thing in common--they used their talents to help others and to build a better society. Robert Gardino is a native New Yorker. With degrees in accounting and finance from Fordham and NYU, he spent most of his working career in banking. While he has Parkinson’s disease, it does not deter him from ＂grave tripping.＂ Vincent Gardino was born and raised in New York as a first-generation Italian-American. His career has encompassed media sales management in radio, television, and print, including positions at ABC, NBC, New York Public Radio, and Straus News. As a graduate of St. Francis College with a degree in history, he enjoys hunting for the graves of famous individuals as a way to connect with the past.
