Debbie S. Miller has written many acclaimed children’s books, including The Great Serum Race, Are Trees Alive?, and Arctic Lights, Arctic Nights. As a child growing up near San Francisco, she loved the harmonic sound of foghorns as she fell asleep. She now lives in Sitka, Alaska, where bald eagles chitter in the forest and the soothing sound of raindrops on the roof help her fall asleep.
