MICHAEL STEIN, MD, is a physician, health policy researcher, and thought leader in the field of public health. He currently serves as the Chair and Professor of Health Law, Policy & Management at the Boston University School of Public Health. Prior to his appointment at Boston University, he served as Professor of Medicine and Director of the Behavioral Medicine and Addiction Research at Brown University. He has published more than 400 scientific journal articles, as well as publishing widely in such places as The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, and The New York Times. His work has been featured on NPR’s Fresh Air, in O Magazine and in many others publications. He is the author of thirteen books and the Executive Editor of Public Health Post.
