Since 1967 there has been a steady stream of new congregations in Milton Keynes. These new Christian communities have reflected a range of theologies, worship styles, models and assumptions. They have been birthed in different eras using different methods. Fashions have changed but the challenge has remained the same. This book is an attempt to learn from the successes and failures of the past fifty years. There is much to learn, but the most important lesson is that "shiny churches" still have a life after the glitter has gone. They are called to fulfil the hope often expressed in Baptism services: "Shine as a light in the world, to the glory of God the Father."
