Born in Clarksville, Tennessee; taking a short detour in Inglewood California, Keinya grew up watching the women in her life struggle and survive through painful and failed relationships. After becoming a single mother at the age of 17, then again at the age of 20, Keinya found herself in exactly the type of bond that she’d sworn to avoid. God stepped in and made her face the reality of life following the arrival of her third child, and the freedom from that Relationship. Never having been officially "on her own", the stress became overwhelming. Once again God stepped in; in the form of a mentor who read the poetry she would write and encouraged her to write her story down. Over the years and several conversations with friends and family, the words began to flow.
