When a middle aged agnostic depressed Termite named Macrotermes starts to question his existence and position in the colony, his life starts to unravel. He can no longer reconcile his existence and suffering with any meaningful vision of his future. The seemingly random nature of the universe, the dull drudgery of his daily life, the inherent suffering of existence, his past disappointments and his inevitable end as an easy meal for a Matabele Black Ant, culminate in an explosive event that alters the fate of his life and his place in the universe forever. Macrotermes breaks free of the machine and sets out on a Walkabout and Thinkabout across Outback Australia. Alone and empowered with self-determination and DMT, Macrotermes discovers his own individuality outside of Termanity, he ponders the riddles of nature, experiences flashbacks and gets into some sticky adventures that transcend space and time.
Intertwined within this termite’s adventure is a relentless chipping away at the narrative of our dogmatic materialistic and religious world views. Using real world examples and physics the reader is encouraged to question the nature of their own existence and escape the machine that enslaves them. This book postulates that the real reality of our existence is being hidden from us and we all must awaken to break free. One enlightened Termite has escaped the matrix and this is his story.
