With a passion for cultural diversity, service, and creativity, Sharona has dedicated herself to using public speaking and the arts on the urban missionary field in Chicago and around the world. Locally, Sharona was the founder and director of PEARL, a female mentorship organization in North Lawndale, Chicago. She was a neighbor and mentor to over 200 young women in the community and aimed to be a life partner to each young woman that she serves. Having now relocated to Huntsville, AL, Sharona serves as the youth and young adult pastor at Hope Community Church. Over the past few years, Sharona also has ministered alongside Partners in Missions in Uganda, Africa and has paired with Merge Ministries to support Christian ministries in San Gregorio, Nicaragua. Artistically, Sharona has a background leading church music ministry and travels nationally and internationally as a background singer for Charles Jenkins ("Our God Is Awesome," "War"). Behind the scenes, Sharona got her start as a campaign manager, artist developer/manager, and event planner for a variety of national recording artists, organizations, and record labels (Viktory, The Legacy Conference, Thi’sl, Terence Clark, Committed of NBC’s "The Sing Off" and more). She also has an online show, "Serve Your City LIVE!," where she interviews some of today’s premier thought leaders and artists. Sharona’s growing experience in urban missions and contributing to the creative initiatives of other artists helps her to have a variety of musical and ministry perspectives. Her signature sound and performance style is a musical gumbo that infuses the storytelling of country and folk, the energy of rap and pop, and the heart and grit of soul and gospel. The messages she shares are based on a biblical worldview with cultural relevancy to the marginalized. Through music, national public speaking, and daily urban missionary work, Sharona aims to impact the heart of culture by bringing light to dark places and inspiring people to love God, seek justice, and serve in their local communities.
