When Hope moved to Fort Collins, Colorado several years ago, she knew it was a place she could call home. Not only is it an approachable city with new businesses popping up each year, more so there is a bubbling entrepreneurial ecosystem. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in Theater, both of which have informed her work. Overall, she has spent a couple of decades in the business sector working for small, family-owned businesses, large corporations, higher education, non-profits as well as technology startups. Her professional experience includes being the vice president of business development at an intellectual property and technology transfer software company in Kirkland, Washington for several years. Most recently she served as the chief operations officer at a digital fundraising software company in Colorado, following an exit from a consulting company she co-founded with her husband, EnConnect Holdings, which was acquired by a Japanese Venture Capital firm. At the writing of this workbook, she held an executive role at a technology startup. Her background also includes teaching experiences such as working with youth English language learners, being a software trainer with Higher Education professionals, and serving as a mentor, coach and facilitator to young women entrepreneurs for one-week intensive accelerator programs. No matter where her professional career has taken her, she has always known life is all about the journey. Her motto is "do it because you can."
