My early memories of being ’happy’ revolve around fishing time at "Auntie Wilke’s cottage" on a dock, at Lake Dalrymple, in southern Ontario. My two brothers and I were hooked on fishing from dawn to dusk and still fish hard today. The dock has long since been replaced by a boat of equivalent length that lets me go wherever I think the fish are! Much to the amusement of the fish, the rolling eyes of my wife, and the head-shaking of my fishing buddies. Since those early days, I have fished Florida, California, Hawaii, and Alaska to name a few places, although Washington state is home. To my credit, I successfully started a significant salmon run at a converted sewage treatment plant (hatchery) in Bellingham, Wa. I have worked with students to hatch salmon at an elementary school every year for a decade (it’s easy when you’re the Principal!) I spent time as a Fisheries Biologist in Research and Development and Salmon Culture with the State of Washington Department of Fisheries and have great stories as I pursued my love of fish. Meanwhile, I can be found loving my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels while watching fishing shows on TV or chasing fish with my boat. Laughter is medicine for the soul, so I’m excited to bring you humorous fish antics!
