Bill and Penny (aka the Rev. William G. Ressl, MDiv, MSW, PhD, LCSW and the Rev. Penny L. Taylor, MDiv, MSW, PhD, LCSW) are a husband and wife team from Brookfield, Illinois, USA. In addition to being indie authors and self-taught creative directors/illustrators of self-improvement books, we are both Ordained Ministers in the United Church of Christ (UCC), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), and hold PhD’s in theology, ethics, and the human sciences. Our self-improvement books rise out of our lived experiences including: our academic training focused on exploring family systems, resiliency, and wellfulness; serving a local UCC congregation for over 15 years; in private practice as Licensed Clinical Social Workers; teaching pastoral and clinical social work courses in the University; and, our interest in art and creating custom labyrinths. Our One Hour Pilgrimages are grounded in the Penny and Bill One Hour Pilgrimage Process that serves as the foundation for our transformative adult activities which invite mindful self-reflection through journaling, artistic creativity, and finger walking custom labyrinths through four mindful practices historically rooted in the Christian tradition.
