Ashwyn, a young girl living in a mountain village who dreams of becoming a dragon rider, along with her best friend Eli of the Wild Horse People. The only problem is that Eli is blind and no dragon would ever choose to bond with a blind boy. The choosing is to take place that very day, however only the Elders from the Village, Candidates, and Dragons are allowed inside. Thankfully Gladiair, a young, brave dragon might be able to help with that. Once bonded the candidates well head off to the Ancient Islands for training. Ashwyns life takes an unexpected turn when a strange Prophet appears and whisks her and Eli off on a dangerous adventure that well change her life forever.
