Gem asks Willet to join the Circle of Augustus, a committed circle of fighters that guards the Astral Gate. A new Circle rises in every age to support the Guardian of the time. Willet would like to help, but she can barely walk outside her own house.
Audrey is very skeptical about Gem and the story she tells, while Willet wonders if there is actually a purpose for her mutant hearing. She’s torn between Gem and her sister. Then she meets the owner of a rock club in West Hollywood. TJ has sandy blonde hair, surfer body and green eyes she could drown in. A total distraction. She wants him like she’s never wanted anyone before. So does every starlet in L.A. TJ may break her heart. Willet will take that risk. A life without risk is no life at all.
