Sinon of Kirra

Sixteen year old Sinon goes to the Oracle of Delphi to ask what his future will be. The Pythoness challenges him to go on a journey to the land of Colchis at the end of the Black Sea to retrieve a legendary treasure. He takes his Nubian servant, Mentu, who is really more like a brother, with him. Together they become sailors on the Amphitrite, a large merchant ship. They struggle through the physical journey, and even more difficult, the psychological journey of becoming men. Finding the treasure, which turns out to be much different than they were expecting, the new challenge is getting home.
