This set of poem cycles, meditations on the birth and death of empires, toggles between the perspective of Perseus, Basileus of Macedon, whose armies were defeated by Rome at Pydna in 168 BC in the third Macedonian war, and the author, writing in America in 2022, as eco-systems fail, and the echo of the Roman Empire embodied in the United States of America teeters on the verge.
