Drills can feel scary-or even silly-to kids.
So what they really need is structure, support, and a little rhythm to help them remember what to do!
As a school social worker, I supported many students through fire drills, tornado drills, and lockdowns.
Some were nervous and worried.
Some didn’t take it seriously and giggled.
But all of them needed guidance.
Let’s practice safety with purpose-without the panic!
