Tensions between Aquis and Mantel slowly rise. With elaborate plots tied together and secrets revealed, Fiaran has to make tough choices on who he can truly trust.

As the human army on Earth begins to crumble, Fiaran is forced to run from his own kind, and those he once considered friends. With both him and his mentor still gravely injured, getting back home to Aquis becomes a war in itself.

Yet when they return, shadows continue to conceal the truth. Those intent on bringing down power move into the light, revealing the faces of old friends and forgotten family.
