Come along with me on my journey, as I have a lot to say from my 48 years living and breathing on this precious little planet of ours. Some of my poems were written on the long train journey to my work on my iPhone; some were written during the witching hour when inspiration hit its hardest (thanks brain). Sometimes all it takes is a sip of sake, or a gust of wind at my mountain home. Some of these are imagined based on what has been happening around the world. I still like the act of putting on a cassette tape of some local punk rock band, or a record of World War II jazz classics that gets me into the right mood to write. I am always searching for the best in my own humanity; this then has come about by acknowledging the darker parts of my own being, embracing it, and moving forward. I love to continually grow, learn, and observe. And despite all we’ve learned as a species, we are still petty, selfish and very judgmental of things we don’t understand. A method I like to use to improve my own perspective, is to look out onto the galaxy we are a part of in the clear night sky, and reduce our problems down, to having simple solutions and take action. I hope this book inspires you to make good choices, in your day or in your life, and to keep moving forward, as I do.
