There is a growing gulf between what the Bible teaches and the church’s current beliefs and practices. As a consequence, this book is an attempt to respond to an institution-the church-that, in many ways, has lost its way. (And that is reflected in the common belief that the church is little more than a not-for-profit welfare organisation with some religious mumbo-jumbo added in for those who need it.)
It’s not perfect-more of a work in progress-but it is an attempt to address a situation where the Gospel is being corrupted; that is, added to, taken away from, and even lost altogether. But be warned: this manual is intended to be a vehicle of change and, by its nature, many people will find aspects of its content very challenging.
