The war was supposed to be over.

Wes had paid her dues, done her time, and survived the worst that the Seelie Court could offer to a young Unseelie fae.

But when the Winter forest calls, turning away isn’t an option.

For centuries, the Unseelie had been hunted, captured, and killed until the Unseelie High Queen forged a magical barrier that divided the courts, giving them a chance at survival. That was years ago now, so long in fact that the tale had become legend and the High Queen, an inspiration to those still standing guard at the fringe between two worlds.

Three gateways separate the enemy realms, entrances that have forever been sealed shut. A given that has always been true. But when the wall is changed unexpectedly and the rules of war are no more, Wes has no choice but to return to the place that almost broke her, to uncover how the Seelie have opened the gateways. And why.

Endless snow, screaming winds, and the kind of fear that carves itself to the bone. Surviving once had been a miracle. To do it twice would mean becoming something she had buried deep in her last life and forgotten. Wes will have to face it all again to save her people from the unrelenting hand of the Seelie fae.
