Rajan Bhatt, PhD, is currently an Associate Professor of Soil Science at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), India, where he formerly was affiliated with the Regional Research Station at the university. He has more than 11 years of research experience in enhancing farmers’ livelihoods and more than five years in enhancing sugarcane crop growth and yield and insect-pest management, among other topics of research. He has handled several research projects and is a regular reviewer and editorial board member for several high-impact journals. He also holds office for 12 professional national-level societies. He authored many scientific research papers, research bulletins, books, book chapters, and extension articles for the benefit of the scientific and farming communities. In addition, he has attended several national and international conferences and workshops and coordinated technical and plenary sessions. To date, Dr. Bhatt has been honored with 18 awards at the state, national and international levels.
Krishan K. Verma, PhD, is working as a Foreign Expert at the Sugarcane Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, Guangxi, China. He has 13 years of research experience in the field of biotic and abiotic stresses, i.e., environmental toxicology, plant physiology, and metallic nanoparticles. His research focuses on environmental toxicology, bioengineering modeling, plant physiology, molecular biology, their impacts on growth, physiological and molecular adaptation strategies of plants to stressful environment, and how they affect the plant structure, using modern tools and techniques like LICOR-6800, AAS, ICP-MS, UV-Vis spectroscopy, GC, TEM, and SEM microscopes, which are applied to assess the uptake, accumulation, transformations, translocation of ions, and impact on plant performance, productivity, leaf gas exchange, and ultrastructure of cellular organs. He has received several awards for his work. He has published more than 120 scientific research articles, including 10 books and 12 book chapters. He is an internationally recognized reviewer. He has been serving as an editorial board member of various peer-reviewed journals.
Shiv Prasad, PhD, is currently working as Principal Scientist and has 25 years of experience in agricultural research and development at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, India, where he is actively involved in postgraduate student teaching and research guidance as a faculty member. Dr. Prasad has made significant contributions to the recycling of biomass waste, conversion of resources, biofuel technology development, sustainable utilization of agricultural crop residues, evaluation of cellulolytic fungal strains for saccharification, screening, and evaluation of efficient microbial strains for ethanol fermentation, optimization of process technologies for ethanol production from sorghum sugar/syrup/crop residues. He has published many research and review articles, authored several books, book chapters, and a training and analytical lab manual. His research works have been cited more than 5681 times (H-index of 28 and i10-index of 57) in national and international literature. He has received several awards and honors for his work.
