This book tells the zany story of Victoria and Yellowknife, who travel across Canada to the provincial and territorial capitals. From the Northwest Territories to Nunavut, each capital they visit has a life of its own, complete with all sorts of fun characters.
The inspiration for creating this book was born out of the desire to teach young children a simplistic and enjoyable way to learn about Canada’s capitals in their provinces and territories.
Some time ago, Mario’s eight-year-old daughter Sydney (who is portrayed as Victoria in this story) approached him to help study for a school test on Canada’s capitals. He was able to teach her by a devised technique using humorous word association in an illustrated storyline. Taking the imagination and association approach, Sydney was able to effortlessly memorize all of the capitals in Canada.
