This book is based on a real-life story of the military experiences of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Hindowa Sandy, a British- and US-trained Sierra Leonean officer who has served the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) for thirty years. He started as an other-rank, or enlisted, as it is called in the US army, and was later commissioned as an officer.
It is a book about God providing a path for a fine officer whose experiences range from fighting against the guerilla rebel group Revolutionary United Front (RUF) in Sierra Leone, keeping the peace in Liberia as part of Sierra Leone’s contingent of the ECOWAS Monitoring Group (ECOMOG), contributing to the national development within Sierra Leone, and also serving as a military adviser on the United Nation’s Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
