Archbishop Sheen continues to inspire people as they realise that he provided answers for the same problems that we face today. He lived a public life, constantly promoting the Faith through his work as a professor, through his books and articles, his radio and television programmes, his lectures, his classes for converts, his service as a National Director for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, and as a Bishop. Yet he also maintained a strong inner life of prayer that enabled him to remain a faithful priest. His reputation for holiness is why the cause for his canonization began in 2002 and continues to progress. He may eventually be named a saint.
