Death of a Goddess merges ancient world mythologies and magic to tell the story of a young girl named, Luna, and how she helped rescue the mother of the moon. One ordinary day, 13-year-old Luna receives an unusual visit from her eccentric grandmother, abuela Monze. Abuela Monze arrives only to bid farewell to her family before embarking on a rescue mission with an ancient, shapeshifting shaman named Oxlac. They must travel through space and time to recruit the help of the powerful goddesses Isis, Athena, and Freya to rescue the Aztec earth goddess, Coatlicue, from an unjust death sentence. Luna sneaks along for the adventure, complicating the already perilous journey. Guided by Oxlac, they race against time to save Coatlicue’s life.
