圖書名稱:The Leadership Handbook for Women: A Woman’s Guide to Developing Leadership Skills for Career Success, Fostering Equity in Workplace, and Empowering O

內容簡介

"Women don’t take charge. They take care."

"There aren’t enough qualified women to be CEO."

"There can only be one queen bee."

"Interest in motherhood is a sign of noncommitment to work."

"Women are too emotional, and they crack under pressure."

How many of these 5 stereotypes have you heard about women leaders?

It’s bananas; don’t some of these stereotypes still exist? This is the 21st century!

How many more Women’s Marches do we need for us to achieve true equality?

If you read nothing else on women in leadership today, I hope you scroll down and keep reading this...

In 2021, less than 10% of CEOs at Fortune 500 companies were women. Five years prior, female executives only comprised 4.3% of the Fortune 500 CEO. The number is even strikingly lower for minority women. Even though statistics show that more women are obtaining higher degrees than men, with colleges and universities in the U.S. now enrolling roughly six women for every four men, women only earn 82 cents for every $1 man earns. Moreover, regarding salary negotiation, research shows that both men and women will judge a woman less favorably who asks for a higher starting salary than a man with the same credentials asking for the same salary.

And suppose you are thinking of starting a family. In that case, research shows that mothers were significantly less likely to be recommended for employment. When they were, they were offered $11,000 less in starting compensation, on average, than childless women, while men are not penalized for having a family.

This may sound discouraging and depressing that there are unspoken rules women must navigate to be successful in the workplace.

You are not alone if you are tired of being passed up for promotions and turned away from high leadership positions. So many women are fighting the same fight each day in all industries.

Hang in there. Help is at hand.

In The Leadership Handbook for Women, you will also discover: The myths about women leaders and why they are all busted! The 7 types of leadership styles-and which leadership style best suits you5 Tips to get you noticed at work and earn your seat on the tableThe rule of salary negotiation-and how to get paid what you deserve7 Fears that might be holding you back from being a great leader-and how to overcome them!4 Barriers women face in the workplaceThe 33% rule that will catapult your career to the next levelWhy you CAN lead even when you are NOT in chargeHow to make the workplace more diverse, equitable, and inclusiveHow to leave a legacy that inspires other womenAnd much more!

This is a call to action for all young female professionals new to leadership who want to develop the necessary skills to become effective leaders. You can start planning your next career move with the easy-to-follow techniques outlined in this book. Even if this is your first job or you never think about managing a team or holding a leadership position, at least you will learn to be a better ally to women leaders and a better negotiator at your next performance evaluation.
