Glenn Miles PhD was sexually abused as a child and came out publicly as a gay man when he was sixty. In between these two major life events he lived an extraordinary life facing many serious personal challenges but becoming an advocate and researcher with some of the most vulnerable people on the planet.
"This book is for folk challenged with being/becoming their authentic selves in the face of rigid religious straightjackets. It’s also for people who are working at the coalface of human rights addressing abuse and evil in our world."
- Sharon Wilkinson, International Development Worker
"Glenn has survived so much in his life on this earth. Yet he has also thrived and has emerged with more grace and love than almost anyone I have known. His vision and passion to advocate for and support other survivors and those who are vulnerable, has defined his life in Wales, the UK and around the world for the decades I have known him. Now, for the first time, he is telling his own story with raw vulnerability and honesty, giving insight into his experiences and in doing so, is speaking out, raising awareness and breaking down barriers, especially in the faith community, where silence and ignorance has often thrived. I hope these words inspire others to do the same."
- Helen Sworn, Founder of Chab Dai International
"This book is a testament to just how far perseverance and faith can take you, even in the face of immense challenges. Through his unwavering honesty and humour, Glenn offers the reader hope found in unlikely places - and more than a few challenging insights along the way. If you need a reminder that you can get through just about anything and still make a beautiful difference in the world, this story is for you."
- Craig Greenfield, author of Subversive Jesus
