A life time drive to improve outcomes for children and young people, took the Author from classroom teacher to one of the first Directors of Children’s Services in the country, leading major multi agency change to the way services were organised and delivered. This was a journey that consistently pushed through frontiers to control detail to make a distinctive difference. The resultant learning uncovered some valuable and generic insights into developing performance which in turn exposed transportable tools, all organisations, regardless of sector, could make use of and develop to fit their specific contexts. This book creates a thought provoking platform that adds value to performance reviews and the drive to improve impact. The generic insights from the Author’s experience of leading and managing transformational change across organisational, managerial and partnership boundaries transcend the public and private sectors. Through the richness of lived experience, this book has multi dimensional applications which could assist: - teachers in training or teachers aspiring to management roles in schools and colleges, including headship. - aspiring managers and Directors of Children Services, Local Government managers and those charged with reviewing the performance of public services. - owners/managers who are seeking to develop business opportunities and the performance involvement of staff teams. - HR and recruitment managers. - academics seeking to research issues relating to organisational development and/or the performance of complex operations, organisations and partnerships.
