As a traveling minstrel I have been blessed to have the opportunity to lead worship and actively spread the Gospel through songs at: high schools, colleges, prisons, nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, in parks, and at music festivals, and over the radio, TV, and the Internet, as well as in all kinds of Protestant and independent churches (including some Catholic groups). I studied classical guitar at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and at the State University of New York at Cortland. I learned to play banjo (barely) using a book, and studied the piano with teachers in Indiana, Ohio, and France, but never did learn to play it. In addition to A Minstrel’s Notes John Jay Frank wrote a book for pastors and church counselors and others interested in the field: Myths, Lies, And Denial: Christian And Secular Counseling In America and the book, Turning Barriers Into Bridges: The Inclusive Use of Information and Communication Technology for Churches in America, Britain, and Canada and produced three CDs of his own songs: For All God’s Children Comfort Ye My People The Cross Of Life and three CDs of: Hymns of God’s Grace Hymns Of The Church Hymns And Carols and a DVD, (some of it is on YouTube) Pick’n and Preach’n, from performances filmed in Connecticut and California * * * All of this and all to come is laid at the foot of the cross.
