IKE, the Tourmaline Gemstone Seeker

The mystical world of Turmali is in crisis. Invading aliens from outer space have stolen the Tourmaline gemstones that give power and light to this far-off world. Now few gems remain and the world is dying. The aliens have also destroyed the rainbow bridges that connect the seven lands of Turmali so the people are cut off and isolated, living in fear of their alien invaders – the dreaded “Light Killers”. IKE is a robot whose life becomes inextricably linked with the lives of the twelve children from Earth. IKE and the GoMadKids each have their own series of ten books for readers to enjoy. In this particular story, the first in the IKE series, we learn that IKE is a robot, designed and built by the evil, shape-shifting aliens known as Light Killers. IKE is taken to the world of Turmali in a spaceship and ordered to seek out Tourmaline gemstones for the aliens. But the Tourmaline gemstones give Turmali its life, so the more gems IKE removes, the more the world dies. When IKE meets a young girl called Clementine in the forests of Album, he realises the error of his ways and begins to question the motives of the Light Killers.
