From legendary Coach Mike Krzyzewski:
David Stallworth was one of the most exciting players in college basketball in the 60s. As a high school player in Chicago I saw him play in Chicago Stadium in a double header - I was amazed! I had never seen anyone that talented in person. Although I knew I was not as talented, it motivated me to work even harder. He did things I had not ever imagined and he did them with ease. He was truly remarkable!
From the Bench:
Before the 1964-65 NCAA Final Four team all move on to sky hoops, the team is committed to growing the existing WSU David Stallworth Memorial Scholarship to cover the full year of tuition and expenses in memory of All American "Dave the Rave" Stallworth. The WSU David Stallworth Scholarship originated as a way to honor David Stallworth and his legacy and was created by Robert Powers, Robert Litan, Jerry Aaron, Gary Austerman, and Herb Krumsick. Just as the Shocker basketball program was forever was forever changed by Dave Stallworth’s humble and unselfish attitude, his supporters are hoping to continue this legacy by supporting bright students for generations to come.
