Winds of Change

In 1799, 17 year old city girl, Melody Meredith’s life changed dramatically when her widowed father walked into a burning warehouse. She was sent to live with relatives on a farm in a village just outside Gloucester. Whilst Mel was having to adjust to the countryside and farm life, the village itself was coming to terms with the disruption of the construction of the Gloucester to Sharpness canal, along with hundreds of navvies on its edge. It brought landslides, looting, secrets and conspiracies and even murder. Mel, together with Josh, the local lord’s son, soon found themselves in the thick of it. Mel realizes she was falling for Josh, but knew, with her past, they were unlikely to have a happy ending.
